This short film was written and directed by Paul for his Masters of Theology Thesis project.
It took around 3 months from pre to post production to complete this project and we’ve had the opportunity to screen it two different times since he finished in mid May. The first screening was held at Fuller for ArtVentures (where masters thesis projects are presented by Fuller students who are completing a masters degree in Theology with an emphasis in theology and art or worship) and the second at our church, Choong Hyun Mission Church in Glendale, Ca. Although it was a little nerve wrecking to showcase and screen this work, we were tremendously blessed by it because it enabled Paul to interact with the audience and absorb fresh perspectives brought about by the Q&A session.
For me, a complete film amateur… or actually an infant…it has been such a surreal ride throughout this entire process. From the creative aspect of writing, shooting, editing this film to the little itty bitty details of scheduling, location scouting, making call sheets, and yes, even craft services, I have been humbled by this project and now have profound respect for those in the industry. Praise God that he has given people such a passion to work tirelessly in media industry for the furtherance of his kingdom through the film medium. I for one cannot even imagine doing this for the rest of my life.. just thinking about it makes me ______ (You can fill in the blank). But again, I praise God that he can use Paul in this way. He does have a gifting for it and it was confirmed again today as we screened it at church. Being able to witness this film finally come into fruition, esp today through the screening, made me feel like I was witnessing a miracle. Our efforts these past few months were definitely carried out by God and I came to realize that God had been leading Paul, his team, and yes his little wife all along. I was sooo humbled and amazed at how good our God really was that I cried at the screening.. 🙂 hehe
Forgive my doubts God and I praise you for you have chosen us, gifted us, and have set us on a path of such immense blessings. May you be glorified in all we do and may you be all that we esteem for everyday of our lives. In your precious sons name I pray, Amen.
